The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is a provincial nominee program (PNP) that allows the province of Alberta to nominate a certain number of candidates for Canadian permanent residency each year. The program is designed to meet the province’s economic and labour market needs by selecting skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who have the potential to contribute to Alberta’s economy.

The AINP has several streams, including the Alberta Opportunity Stream, the Alberta Express Entry Stream, the Self-Employed Farmer Stream, and the International Graduate Entrepreneur Immigration Stream. Each stream has its eligibility criteria and requirements.

Eligibility criteria:

1.Work experience:

Applicants must have relevant work experience in a skilled occupation that is in demand in Alberta. The work experience should be in an occupation that matches their educational qualifications and be in a NOC (National Occupational Classification) skill level 0, A, B, or C.

2.Language proficiency:

Applicants must demonstrate language proficiency in either English or French by taking an approved language test. The minimum language score requirements vary depending on the stream of the program.

3.Education:

Applicants must have completed at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Some streams may require higher levels of education.

4.Valid job offer:

Applicants must have a valid job offer from an Alberta employer in a skilled occupation that is in demand in the province.

5.Financial stability:

Applicants must have sufficient funds to support themselves and their dependents in Alberta.

It is important to note that meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee approval for nomination by the AINP. The program has a limited number of nominations available each year and applicants must also demonstrate their intent to settle in Alberta and contribute to the local economy and society.

The AINP has several streams that individuals can apply for, each with its eligibility criteria:

3.Self-Employed Farmer Stream:

This stream is for individuals who have the intention and ability to establish a farm in Alberta. To be eligible, candidates must have sufficient funds to purchase and develop a farm, have proven experience in farming, and demonstrate the ability to invest in and operate a farm in Alberta.
